It’s a wrap! The Kansas City Comic Con experience…

I'm exhausted. Still. This past weekend at Kansas City Comic Con was my first time ever being a vendor at a convention. It was an incredible experience. Much like my first time as a panelist only a few months ago, I mostly tried to remember to take a step back and soak it all in. Despite coming home at last on Sunday evening feeling like I'd been run over by a truck, the entire weekend was an absolute blast. I looked around at that convention hall with everyone setting up on ... View Post

The Great Unboxing (of the limited edition, convention exclusive DREAMERS paperback!)

Greetings, all! Today, I have a pretty fun short video of my limited edition paperbacks' unboxing! You may have come to the conclusion that I had fallen off the face of our fair planet recently. Thankfully, that is not the case. I have neglected this blog (mostly) purposefully lately for several reasons: July was Camp NaNoWriMo, and I intended to write 20,000 words on a brand spanking new fantasy novel Instead I wrote 3000-ish words on the brand spanking new fantasy novel, and then ... How 1 Worksheet Saved My Novel from the Trash

It's come to my attention that I have a problem. With the 3 Act Structure. Not with the 3 Act Structure itself. Not even with it as applied to other things, like movies and plays and other books. (The hubby and I regularly whisper "Act 2" and "Act 3" to ourselves during almost every movie we watch, it's like habit now. I blame film class.) No, I have a problem with it when trying to apply it to my own novels. I have read James Scott Bell's "Plot and Structure" book, and highly ... View Post

What’s Behind the Curtain: My 1st Time as a Panelist at a SF/F Convention!

This week it was my turn to post over on our blog at Wordwraiths.com. Since the month of May 2016 marked a huge step for me in regards to my author career, in that it was the very first time I spoke as a panelist at one of the science fiction and fantasy conventions I love so much, I decided to write about that experience:   May 2016 was a big deal for me in terms of my author career. It marked the very first time I would sit in front of a room of people and pretend I knew ... View Post

Project List for May 2016…and an Anniversary!

I know it's the 19th already okay!?!??! Don't remind me! So yes, I'm rather late getting this Project List up. But never you fear, just because I was late in posting it doesn't mean I've been lazy about working on it. Oh no. In fact, the reason I'm so late posting it is because I've been so busy working on it! And I've been feeling a heavy resistance to posting it. I'm not sure why. Maybe I didn't want to actually list it all out because it seems too overwhelming when I put it all ... View Post
