2023: LESS, Not More…

USUALLY... the new year is my 2nd favorite time of year... following Christmas as my #1 favorite time of year. I usually LOVE the start of a new year. I get really motivated and inspired and feel like it's a fresh start. A chance to re-evaluate life and make S.M.A.R.T. goals and plans to carry through the next year. A time to course-correct, reflect, appreciate, revise and take action toward my ideal future. And I felt that same way throughout December 2022, throughout the Christmas ... View Post

Outlaw Christmas: A Lucky Logan prequel short story

(Timeline: This story takes place 7 years before the events of Bargain at Bravebank, book 1 of The Legacy of Lucky Logan series. Rated R for some language and implications of violence.) Holt Haggerty poked at the campfire with a stick, lookin’ across the cracklin’ flames to the kid, who sat sullen and silent. Van stared blankly into the flames, hardly blinkin’. He hadn’t been the same since they’d left Two Rivers, Colorado, though Holt didn’t fault him fer that. Learning that any of yer ... View Post

I have a problem…

Yes, I have a problem. I've noticed this problem occurring now during all 7 of the last novels I've written, and now it's happening with this one too! I am currently "deep" in the first draft of Demon at Devil's Deep, the fourth book in The Legacy of Lucky Logan series. And it's been going pretty well overall. It's most definitely been going better than both book 2 and book 3's drafts... mostly because this book does not include a heist (HOLY COW, I love heists but they are DIFFICULT to ... View Post

2021 Year-End Review… aka, Holy Crap, how was all that in the same year!?!

Well, it's a new year, and I LOVE new years!!!! ^_^ The beginning of a new year always makes me feel GREAT! I get super motivated and super excited to make new goals and new plans, to get rid of the old and welcome in the new! So I made my 2022 goals list, and I was all pumped to share them. And then I suddenly hit the brakes and thought, "Hang on a second. You're so terrible at stopping to think about all the things you've accomplished in the PAST year... why don't you take a minute to ... View Post

A Christmas Find: a Lucky Logan prequel short story

(TIMELINE: This story takes place roughly 13 years after the story Beneath the Christmas Star, and roughly 14 years before the events of Bargain at Bravebank. RATED PG for one swear word and implications of violence.) “Van Jensen Delano, where is your coat?” Van heard his mother’s voice echo back through the house, but only barely registered her words. He was too intent on his work: carving out a chunk of wood he’d rescued from beside the hearth into his very own wooden pistol. He was ... View Post

Merry Christmas, Junior: A Lucky Logan prequel short story

(TIMELINE: This story takes place roughly ten years after the tale LUCKY LOGAN, and roughly four years before the short story BENEATH THE CHRISTMAS STAR. RATED R for language, lewd humor, and sexual situations.) “God damn, I’m freezin’ my goddamn balls off up here,” Holt Haggerty hissed, his breath puffin’ clouds of vapor up around his head. ‘Lucky’ Logan Delano snorted from where he sat wedged into one corner of the general store’s roof, bundled up in all his best winter clothes just ...
