Sorry (not sorry!)… no choices for you!

Choose your own path... orrrr maybe not...So I told you all this next book series, The Legacy of Lucky Logan, first began when I wanted to explore more the idea behind an outlaw falling in love with a law-abiding woman, inspired by Mary Linton and Arthur Morgan's relationship in Red Dead Redemption 2. Well, after I mulled around that idea a bit, I thought it would be super fun to write a Choose-Your-Own-Path-style novel, where the reader could choose whether they wanted to stay an outlaw or ... How Mary Linton inspired a whole book series…

You can get book ideas from anywhere and everywhere... But usually the book that ends up being written is nothing like the original idea! I'm currently writing a 6-8 book series that now has two spin-off series of its own... and it all started with Mary Linton... But some of you may be asking: Who in the hell is Mary Linton!?!? Well, I'm glad you asked! Mary Linton is a side character in the videogame Red Dead Redemption 2. Matter of fact, Mary Linton is the former lover of ... View Post

Of Donkeys, Cogs, and Hot Bodies … an excerpt!

Not long now, folks! My next book, the third (and final?) book in my co-written Starship Ass series, will go live on Amazon on Thursday, November 14th! That's only days away! Ah! It's hard to believe that just a few months ago (at the end of May) was the release of Book 1, and also my first full-length novel publication. Less than six months later, and I'll have three full-length novels out there! Holy crap! :P I also wrote a whole 'nother novel in that time (and a flash fiction ... View Post

The NaNoWriMo 2019 Grand Experiment, Day 1: Writing Into the Dark = lower word count but better world-building!

Well, day 1 of NaNoWriMo is in the books. (Ha ha, puns.) As is my yearly tradition when participating in NaNo, I took the day off work to devote the entire day to writing, hoping to accumulate a large chunk of words and get a head start on the challenge. (Especially since the back half of the month is always pretty crazy.) For the first time since 1990-something, I'm trying a totally different process to write my next novels. I started writing up a whole post about this process, and how it ... View Post

There’s a giant herd of buffalo 15 minutes from my house and I had no idea…

HOW exactly do you miss a giant herd of buffalo near your house? I have no idea. But we've been living in this same house for ten + years now (omg really!?) and I didn't know they were there. There is also a giant herd of elk in the same area. And a "town" straight out of 1855. Which is incredibly relevant to my life right now, considering I'm working on a steampunk western series modeled after the mid-to-late 1800s. SO imagine my surprise and indignation (indignation because ... View Post

What We’ll Do for a Duck…

As you may or may not know... I have pet ducks. I say PET ducks, because no way and no-how are we going to eat them. (Except for in case of the Apocalypse and/or the Zombie Apocalypse. But even then, we'd likely hatch some new ducklings for the express purpose of eating, and raise them with the intent of eating, and not, you know, name them and stuff, so that the guilt of eating them is somewhat lessened. The main point being... we're NOT going to eat our adorable ducks unless ABSOLUTELY ... View Post
