Weekly Update Series #1: Introduction, Reign of Dust, and Future Plans for the Series

Well, after polling the masses on Facebook, I've decided it would be a good idea to start a weekly video series about my writing projects, writing progress, and writing process, with various other life surprises thrown in here and there. My plan is to post each episode each week to my site here, as well, though I'm currently two weeks behind! So I'll play catch up here real quick, and then it will be just in time for update #3 to hit the blog slightly late. But that's fine... it all works ... View Post

Celebrating the Wins of 2017

So there's something I suck at... well, okay, there's a few things I suck at. But one of those things I suck at is celebrating my accomplishments when they happen. Despite (or maybe because of??) having a massive mindset shift in January 2016 about the journey being the reward, not the destinations along the journey, I still tend to hit a goal and then blow right by it, on to the next thing, without giving much notice at all to the fact I actually accomplished a goal toward which I'd been ... How I Used Plotting to Write Faster and Have More Fun

For most of my writing career, I pantsed my novels and stories. Meaning I just made them up as I went along. I started with a vague notion of what I wanted the story to be about, and I'd just start writing. While fun, certainly, the stories always ended up being overly long, and seemed to take a very long time to get to the point of what they were trying to say. When I started writing fanfiction, my stories began to take on a bit more structure. Because as I was publishing them chapter by ... View Post

Project List for May 2017

What's that you say? I skipped April? I don't know what you're talking about.... So now that this new month is already skipping on by, let me just briefly outline the plans for May! Continue writing the new fantasy novel, with a goal of roughly 500 words/day. Complete 30k in edits for a client before the end of May. Complete Wordwraith Books intern interviews and select final candidate. Prep speaking points for panels I'll be sitting on at ConQuesT over Memorial Day weekend. ... View Post

Who’s going to Planet Comicon, Kansas City?

Cuz I sure am! That's right! The first local convention of the season fast approacheth, and it is ... Planet Comicon! Planet (or PCC) is first in a line up of three shows I'll be attending this year. And, as a very first for me, this year I'll actually be moderating three writing-related panels! I will be moderating 2 of my 3 pitched ideas which were accepted (the 3rd was well received, but couldn't fit on the schedule), and 1 panel which was not my idea at all, but the Programming ... Bait, Fish, and Reel Report for March 2017

Another month gone, another month half-over. So let's go over what happened in March before I get any further behind! Let's take a look at what I had planned on doing, first, as usual. Red means NO, it did not happen, green means YES, it did happen, and yellow means it halfway happened, lol. Publish my first children’s picture book, Breakfast Time on the Farm! (SQQQQUUUEEEE!) (it went live March 28th, 2017!) Send goodies to my email lists! Update my Author Central page! (completed ... View Post
