Starting word count: 10,032 Ending word count: 10,722 Haven't worked too much on the stories lately… life has been really insane, especially this past week. So much on my mind to think about, plan, and get done, I haven't had much energy for creating fictional problems for fictional people, meh. I've thought about it alot, but just haven't been able to get myself to sit down and physically get the ideas out. But today is a nice rainy day and I LOVE writing during thunderstorms, so I figured I'd take the chance and force myself to put some of CotR in the computer. I really need to get this novel cranking, I want to have it ready to send off by this time next year, and that has to include editing time! On the bright side, I read what I had of this story so far out loud to my mom and grandma while we were on a long road trip. Both of them seemed very interested in the story line and showed all the proper reactions I was hoping for from readers. They laughed and gasped at all the right spots, which really made me happy. Grandma made a few suggestions on how to make a few sentences more clear for her mental images, which is just what I needed her and mom to do. Mom isn't so good at being critical of my stuff, ha, so she didn't have any suggestions, but said she really liked it. Both of them wanted to hear more of the story when I read as far as I got, but I told them I didn't have any more at the moment. All that was very encouraging to me. Yes, they are just my family, but being able to see/hear their reactions to what I had so far was just priceless. 🙂 Okay… off I go!

What a good way to get feedback! I, too, love writing during thunderstorms – or on any given rainy day, honestly! It’s so much cozier, and it feels like I can get some stuff done when the weather is crummy 🙂

I know! Usually I actually look forward to winter because I am huge outdoorsy person and if the weather is nice I just cannot sit inside at the computer. Luckily I have a laptop that I often take outside with me to write on when it’s beautiful outside, but I have to split writing time with sooo many other activities I like to do when it’s nice. So the winter is a great opportunity to lock myself indoors and really get to work writing… except this winter has been very mild and not really all that bad, so it’s not encouraging me to get cozy and write as much as I had hoped. 😛
I just need to do something like you and write at least a page a day no matter what! 😀

Yeah, it works best if you do it in the morning, either before or during breakfast, just because then it’s done and it’s out of the way.
Oh, but I’m soo glad it’s done! I’m really tired, and I still have a writing assignment I have to pay attention to, so now that my calendar just opened up, I’m super happy! 🙂
