Progress Report – November

Well.  My lovely novel-writing progress has come to a screeching, whiplash halt due to the sequel to one of my favorite video games coming out.  😛

Saints Row 2 has completely ruined my momentum.

However, all is not lost, as I've just beaten the game about two days ago.  So it cannot control my life any longer.  Mwahahahaaa!  Unfortunately it also inspired some fanfic.  But I've stuck to my rule of only releasing oneshots from now on (aside from the LOTR fic and the sequel to my KOTOR fic), so each installment takes me only about a day to write.  Still, thoughts of that game and that fic are consuming me.

Well, they were.  Actually today is the first day I've started to go back to thinking about the novels, so that's a good sign.  Too bad about three weeks of writing time was wasted on the game.  Hrm, wasted is a strong word.  I really enjoyed it…. but that's three weeks less I have to meet my goal!  Agh!

All that aside, today marks the day I'm going to head back in the direction of doing much more novel-work again.  Especially with all this NaNoWriMo stuff going around the 'net, and the cold weather coming on, it's really inspiring.  I love to write all warm and cozy in my house when it's wintery and cold outside.  Mmmm.  And there's just something so relaxing about working on your own stuff.  I always liked fanfiction because you can get almost instant feedback once you post something.  But then again, it's nice not to have to worry about whipping something up into perfect shape the first go-through, and not having to keep your people in-character… because… they are YOUR characters, and only you know how they act.  Plus the world is all yours, you can do whatever you want.  Yes, I'm definitely starting to get the feelings back I had about writing original stuff before I started fanfiction.

YEAH!  😀

And, I've got a fourth idea regularly pestering me, which means it's likely something I can work with.  I'm calling it Flare for now.  It's kind of a disaster story, I guess.  But it'll have to get in line… it's a bit too new to start jotting anything down yet.

That's all for now, hopefully the end of November will see much more progress on LIB and Cheetah on the Roof!
