Project List for February 2014

Yep. Behind. 😛 Boy this month is kicking my butt already! (Half the office is out this week, meaning I have to work full time instead of part time and can’t take any time off, one of the grandmas is out of town as well, meaning I have one less babysitter, and I’m supposed to be running a half-marathon in ten days and have only reached 4 miles in my training… *hyperventilates*… *channels calm*… okay anyway, let’s continue, shall we?!)

Let’s see if I can scrape things together and get something (more) accomplished without collapsing of exhaustion…!

This month, I will:

  • Complete and submit a short story for the NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge, deadline February 15th (done!)
  • Keep up with Writing Prompt Wednesday posts (Mostly!)
  • Work as much as possible on the novel and submit the WIP manuscript to Lulu.com for the free proof hardcover, deadline March 1st (done! SQUEE!!!)

I was hoping to have the novel rough draft COMPLETE by March 1st, but with everything else going on this month that is not looking so promising. On the other hand, I am really starting to get into the thick of the plot now and I’m really excited for the back half of this story.  It is now at 79k+ words and climbing! Still nowhere near the longest original novel I’ve written (that would be the 220k+ I wrote by hand in highschool, yikes!) – but this IS the most progress I’ve made on an original story in a very long time, so I’ll take it! 🙂

That’s all for now, happy writing to everyone!
