Project List for January… 2014!!!!!

That’s right people!  It’s a BRAND NEW FREAKIN’ YEAR!!!!

And I’m ready to KICK IT’S ASS!!!  😉

How ’bout you?

I really like New Year’s Day.  It’s a new leaf, a fresh start, a clean slate, whatever other analogies you’d like to make.  They’re all true.  But only if you mentally buy into it.

And I just went ALL IN.

2013 was a fantastic year for me personally, on all levels.  I didn’t sell nor publish a single thing, but my writing career has reached levels I am very proud of, and I fully plan on continuing down this track FULL STEAM AHEAD!

With me will be the AMAZING people in my writer’s group, and all you AWESOME people here, and I just can’t wait for all the crazy adventures 2014 will hold!

So, let’s start this year off with a bang! ….

JANUARY GOALS:

  • Submit “In Morte, Omnia” to Strange Horizons (Done! 1.8.14)
  • Submit “The Transference” to Daily Science Fiction (Done! 1.8.14)
  • Find a market for at least 3 of my previously rejected poems and submit(Didn’t get this one done, unfortunately. Try again next month!)
  • Get back on schedule for Writing Prompt Wednesday posts (Eh… mostly! I think I only missed one, which is a large improvement over December!)
  • Write at least 1000 words per day on the novel (“The Good Thing”) (Let’s not even talk about this…. :P)

I think that about sums it up….

LET’S DO THIS!!!

Happy 2014 JRF!! 1K-a-day is a laudable goal – I’m still itching to read the completed NaNovel.

For my part, there’s just one resolution: finish Dark Energies. As in, properly, fully finish it with all the words in the right order and then turn it into an actual, physical, made-of-paper book that I can wave and people and yell: “I wrote this!!” 😀

Mind you… that was the resolution last year as well…

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you as well!!!! ^_^

Well, I am just dying to get this thing DONE, I tell you, and I’m only in the rough draft stage! AGH! Hah. I am also failing miserably at my 1k/day goal, that really might have been a tad unrealistic… so far I’m averaging about 1k a WEEK, soooo…. that’s going to take some work to catch up! Bah.

HAHA, well no worries! This is a brand new year!!! THIS will be your year, I’m sure of it! Especially since you can recruit me to be your official kicker-in-the-pantser, if you wish. I HAVE to have other people on the book bandwagon with me, I’ve noticed, otherwise my motivation lags and I don’t get much done. So. If you are needing some regular writer pals to annoy you into working on your book, let me know! For me personally, having a group of people to regularly talk writing/plot/etc with helps IMMENSELY.

In fact, I really went nowhere with my original stories until I had at least one other friend to write with once a week, at least. And our group has grown from there. So… do you have any writer friends who are local? (They must also be writers, or it doesn’t work, ha.)

YOU GOT THIS! You already have a finished draft, which is definitely a GREAT START! So GO GO GO!!!! 😉 I’m over here rooting for you!
