June 5, 2013

Project List for June 2013

And here we go again!  I cannot believe how fast May went by!  WHOOOOOSH!!!

  • This worked out super swell last month, so I’m going for it again: Write 200 words a day or 1400 words a week, of anything, period. I know this seems like a low number in the grand scheme of things, but I’d much rather continuously exceed my goal than continuously fail to reach it.  So, I set it low for daily counts, to be within an acceptable range to make up words if I don’t get to write for a day or two! (Goal = 5600 words, Achieved = 8710 words!  Whoohoo!)
  • Attend the New Letters Writing Conference at UMKC the last weekend in June, and have the first chapter of my novel evaluated while there. (Registered 6.12.13!)(Attended! 6.28.13 – see the feedback I received on my first chapter here!)
  • EDIT THE CRAP out of the first chapter of my novel and send it to the wonderful people at UMKC before the June 19th deadline, in preparation for said evaluation! (Prologue edited! 6.10.13)(Chapter One edited! 6.12.13)(To UMKC!  6.19.13)
  • Edit eight waiting chapters/short stories for three separate writing pals. (One down! 6.4.13)(Two down! 6.5.13)(Three down! 6.7.13)(Four down! 6.10.13)(Five done! 6.13.13)(Six! 6.21.13)(All done at last! WHEW! 6.27.13)
  • ADDITION TO LIST: Finish outlining and filling out character sheets for the novel bound for QuirkBook’s Love Story Fiction Contest. (Done! 6.20.13)
  • Edit at least the Prologue and first chapter of my writing pal Rod’s novel. (This is being moved to a different month, too many other projects to edit first! 😛  6.12.13)
  • Finish at least the second chapter of my Mass Effect 3 fanfiction – I hate ignoring my fanfic fans!!!  They deserve something nice for waiting so patiently! (Also being moved until a later date… my apologies, but the Where’s the Love Fiction Contest has thrown a wrench into things… 6.12.13)
  • At least begin the next and final chapter of my fanfic “The Wall that Fell” … those poor dears deserve this chapter even more!!! (See above… )

This might be a tall order for the month, but since a lot of it is editing, I’m hoping it’s feasible.  We will see!  I need to get some of the fanfiction off my plate though so I stop being so anxious about the waiting readers and can then focus completely on my original works!

Let’s go JUNE!!!!  😉

It’s good to hear that The Wall that Fell is going to be concluded–at long last! 🙂 It’s been an incredible story and I’m very much looking forward to seeing how it ends. Also, I concur–it’s nice to finally be able to focus exclusively on original pieces. Having finished my own set of fan fiction stories, I’m glad I’ve relieved myself of those and gotten them where they need to be.

Hehehe… yeeessshh… all you poor readers of The Wall that Fell!!!! I really don’t know how you’ve had the patience to deal with that thing! It’s frustrating to me that I feel I can’t properly do it justice anymore, but I will definitely try! At the very least it will have an ending and be concluded, which is better than being left hanging, I guess, right!? Sheesh. It is very, very hard for me to switch back and forth between fanfic and original work. Apparently I use two different processes for them and my brain doesn’t like to switch gears! But I’m going to make a concentrated effort this month to get back on the fanfic track long enough to finish the incomplete fanfics because I cannot STAND incomplete stories!!!! I’m glad you’ve wrapped up your own stories… it’s such a good feeling!!! 🙂
