To help keep my thoughts in order these next few weeks, as we fast approach Camp NaNo (at reckless speed, really!), I decided to go ahead and track what I plan to get done for the rest of the month here, and cross items off the list as I go along. So, let’s see, my “Ta-Da List” for the rest of March (and it will surely be TA DA if I manage to get it all done!):
Choose, prepare, edit, and submit five poems to The Animal Literary Magazine(it ended up being three poems, because the others didn’t seem to be good fits… but they are finally OFF! 3.17.13)Simultaneously submit some of those poems to other targeted markets(Four poems off to the Kudzu Review! Except none of them were the same as what I sent to Animal, but that’s okay, lol. 3.25.13)Start work on second scifi short story (Blackmarket Body)(This is just not going to happen this month… pushing it off till after Camp NaNo I think. WHEW.)Complete beta reading duties for three waiting documents(one down, two to go! 3.18.13 Two down, one to go! 3.20.13 Three down, whoohoo! Although I have already gained another three… meep. 3.25.13)Plot and outline Act 2 for “Cheetah on the Roof” in prep for AprilCamp(as done as it can be anyway until I start pantsing! 😛 – 3.15.13)Finish revising Chapter 1 of the Mass Effect 3 fanfiction(finally done! 3.26.13)Complete 2nd chapter of ME3 fanfic and send to beta reader(also definitely didn’t happen this month, yikes! Pushing back till after Camp… 4.8.13)Watch for response from Daily Science Fiction re: “In Morte, Omnia”(REJECTED 3.27.13…next up,Strange HorizonsWitness!)FORGOT something: subscribe to Writer’s Digest Tutorials!(subscribed! Many applicable Tutorials to watch now, wow! Also ordered three more craft books that were on Spring Clearance, WOOT! 3.18.13)Submit “In Morte, Omnia” to Witness Literary Mag for “ghost” themed issue.(submitted! 3.29.13)- NEW ITEM: Finish editing Mark’s first chapter of “Blood Games” by end of month
Ah, feels better to have it all down. Now…. TO BED!

This is a really good idea, actually! 🙂 I might start doing one of these. I have so much going on in my head for my stories that it gets difficult to keep track! But this is good–this is laid-out and organized. I think I’m going to borrow it, if you don’t mind! 😀

Nope don’t mind at all! Feel free! I thought it was a handy way as well to keep track of everything, otherwise I scatter notes to myself all over the place and end up forgetting about something or other. I think I’m also going to do a monthly summary of what I got accomplished, which stories were submitted to where and if they were accepted/rejecte/pending. A writer friend of mine did this on her LJ every month, and I remember always being impressed with how organized she was. Now that I’m starting to submit myself finally, I realize that it’s really quite necessary to create spreadsheets, lol. Anyway, glad you like the idea and yes, borrow away!
