Slow and steady, said the tortoise to the hare…..

Sooooooo, I went back and took the average of how much I was handwriting on Guardian Angel at each sitting (because I date it in the margine each time I start writing), and it comes out to about one whopping page for each day I write.  Heh.  That being said, I've got fifty pages written so far.  Not really a lot, but more than it feels like to me.  And I guess a page for each bout of writing isn't terribly bad considering I get about fifteen minutes ... PROGRESS! In a manner of speaking…

I feel much better since that last post.  I'm a lot more on track now than I was then.  I only have one chapter left to write on my latest Mass Effect fanfiction, and then my cursed fanfic plot bunnies are being put away in a deep dark hole for awhile.  Despite having written the last posted chapter of "Oligo" (I squeezed it out in about three days of marathon writing... hubby was not happy about being ignored but I needed it out of my system!), and sort ... Musings.

What I want to know is why it took me 26 years to realize what I really wanted to do with my life was to write novels? I was lying in bed the other night and suddenly realized my 27th birthday is coming up fast.  Realized I was almost thirty.  Realized I'd actually been creating stories since I could draw a decent stick figure.  Realized I'd been dreaming of publishing a novel since I was fourteen.  Remembered how I had wanted to be a young published ... The Strange World of Story Formation: Guardian Angel

So one of the reasons I wanted to keep this journal was to be able to record how some of my stories progress, especially in the beginning, because as often happens after I work on something for an extended period of time, I forget how I ever came up with the idea, or how it ever developed into what it was currently, because I do remember it turns out nothing like it began, just can't remember how.  Heh.For instance, the idea I've been talking about quite a bit lately, Lady in ... The long-awaited return of Novel!muse! Whooo!

Anyone wondering across my other blogs or sites every now and then may recall me whining and complaining about how fanfiction takes up all my time and I never write my novels, which is what I feel I should be putting most effort into, since they are the projects that have the potential to do such things like, you know, make me some money.Having just finished my Saints Row 2 fanfic, I've recently found myself strangely fanfic-free. It feels weird. Sure, I'm working on a rather long Mass ... View Post

Progress Report and CotR Word Count

I spent yesterday running around with my friend Andrea looking at wedding dresses for her.  It was really fun, but I didn't get to write any.  So today I made myself sit down and get some more of Cheetah on the Roof (CotR) into the computer:Starting word count: 8,724Ending word count: 10,148A little snippet:“Situation?” Claire repeated, gazing up at the cat and feeling hazy, as if she might faint. She took a few deep breaths of the cold night air to try and ...
