What I Learned from NaNoWriMo 2012

My goodness.  Let me just say that I am really glad November is over.  If you are wondering why I did not happen to post here after November 2nd, and you guessed that it could have had something to do with needing to write 50k words in 30 days, you would be correct.  I really had no time to do anything extra in any spare time throughout November because every minute was spent working on my word count.  I wrote in cars, in trucks, on airplanes, next to swimming pools in Las ... NaNo Day 2: I feel like a REAL WRITER!!

Word Count Day One: 2834Word Count Day Two: 819The important thing to remember here is that I'm still ahead of schedule, and I've stuck with it for two days, which yes, is progress.  :)  I'll take anything I can get right now!  I stole my younger sister's desk while she's away at college and made myself a little NaNo headquarters in the corner of our bedroom.  It's small and unobtrusive, but gives me a place to put the laptop that's not on ... CotR word count….

Okay, so June is now my own personal NaNoWriMo.  I need something to give me a kick in the ass and this is it.  I'll keep track of my progress here, of course.  Starting word count: 11,484 Ending word count:  11.801 About 800 short of my goal, but at least it's something, finally.  :P ... CotR Word Count

Starting word count: 10,032 Ending word count:  10,722 Haven't worked too much on the stories lately... life has been really insane, especially this past week.  So much on my mind to think about, plan, and get done, I haven't had much energy for creating fictional problems for fictional people, meh.  I've thought about it alot, but just haven't been able to get myself to sit down and physically get the ideas out.  But today is a nice rainy day and ... Slow and steady, said the tortoise to the hare…..

Sooooooo, I went back and took the average of how much I was handwriting on Guardian Angel at each sitting (because I date it in the margine each time I start writing), and it comes out to about one whopping page for each day I write.  Heh.  That being said, I've got fifty pages written so far.  Not really a lot, but more than it feels like to me.  And I guess a page for each bout of writing isn't terribly bad considering I get about fifteen minutes ... Progress Report and CotR Word Count

I spent yesterday running around with my friend Andrea looking at wedding dresses for her.  It was really fun, but I didn't get to write any.  So today I made myself sit down and get some more of Cheetah on the Roof (CotR) into the computer:Starting word count: 8,724Ending word count: 10,148A little snippet:“Situation?” Claire repeated, gazing up at the cat and feeling hazy, as if she might faint. She took a few deep breaths of the cold night air to try and ...
