Pretty much everything for everyone reading this post will stay the same … BUT!
If you only follow this blog on wordpress.com instead of by email, then my new posts will only show up in your Reader, and you won’t receive email alerts for new blog posts.
If you would like to receive email notifications for new posts on my blog, simply subscribe here again! (Sorry! :P)
Hopefully this will not be too annoying for you, but I just hate the thought of disappearing from your radar without an explanation! 🙂 I appreciate all of you who take the time to read my (mostly very boring) posts and leave me lovely comments, so thank you very much! I hope to see you over at the new (and soon to be much-improved) site!
Allons-y!

Congratulations on moving to self-hosted wordpress. 😀
Something I found out only a couple of days back. You can migrate your followers from the wordpress.com site to your self-hosted. Go to my sites and select the wordpress.com and the option is somewhere there.

Yes, I did do that already, actually. Well … it is currently migrating them right now! But apparently that’s only for email subscribers. If a person is ONLY following through wordpress.com, they will still only see it through the Reader, and not get any alerts. I’m not sure wordpress.com sent alerts to people, either, actually, but at least this way any wp.com subscribers will have a heads up and can get alerts if they want! 🙂

Hmm perhaps consider a true email subscription service? Maybe it’s worth it especially if you have already built the numbers. Not sure if you can migrate your followers from wordpress email subscription though. Still learning all that myself to be honest. 😀

Yes, I will be going with a real email subscription service very shortly. Working on the set up currently as well! Slowly but surely getting there! I don’t know if I can migrate the WordPress email subscribers into that email list: it SAYS I can import current subscribers, but I don’t know if that applies to WordPress. I’ll find out shortly! 🙂

Also another thing I just noticed. Gmail sends your emails from this site directly to spam folder. Does that with many self-hosted web sites. Main reason why I didn’t go for wordpress email subscription myself.
