March 22, 2014

Why hello, Internet … I have returned! (Sort of …)

Yes, yes, I am aware the fantastic Jumping From Cliffs tagged me in a blog hop post and sent all kinds of lovely people over here and all they found was a week-old post and the sound of crickets chirping.  *sheepish*

I apologize for my sporadic and entirely-unplanned absence of late.  I did not get a Writing Prompt Wednesday post up last week, you are correct.  Nor have I concluded the post I began about getting more ideas – I will be sharing my ideas on how to track those ideas shortly, though, promise!

I have instead recently found myself trapped in a very deep, very dark hole.  It’s been a few weeks now, truthfully, but until last week I was able to scrabble my way out of the hole periodically to peek at the sunlight again and join the real world for at least a blog post or two before falling back in.

This is not a pit of despair, folks, fear not.

No, it is a pit of obsession.  Good old-fashioned, painful, agonizing, stalker-ish obsession.  A pit of obsession created by the one and only Doctor.

Yep.  Observe:

Doctor Who Obsession

There ya go.  So now you know where I’ve been, and why I haven’t hardly worked at all on the novel this month, and why I haven’t completed pretty much anything from my Project List for this month, and why I haven’t yet responded to Jon’s tag for the awesome blog hop.

Doctor Who2

But.  Honestly, I’m not too upset by this, because I’ve discovered something wonderful, and in the end it’s just more inspiration to create something of my own just as wonderful (hey, I can try, yes I can!).  And it’s been fun to just get lost in a fandom again.  It’s been YEARS since I’ve done this, and it feels good.  🙂

However, I AM planning to get back on track again starting April.  I’m basically giving myself the rest of this month off as well since it’s mostly a lost cause.  April 1st begins Camp NaNoWriMo, though (*gulp*), so it’s a good regrouping point, I think.

I shall return shortly with a reply to JFC’s tag, and more snippets and poems, and some methods on how to organize all those new ideas you guys have been getting and writing down this month.

Until then, my dearest friends, happy writing!

Allons-y!

Crack on JRF, crack on!! The crickets are becoming hoarse and tumbleweed is gathering about my trouser hems.
