Writing Goals for 2015

And so begins the flood of “New Year’s Resolutions” posts and tweets and status updates, etc, etc!

But this year, I do not have resolutions.  I have GOALS.

And I’m going to try to be realistic with these goals, so as to not 1) discourage myself and 2) overwhelm myself.

The psyche is a fragile thing, indeed.

I survived my third year of National Novel Writing Month – barely.  I then meditated on the question, “What am I doing?  Is this worth it?  Is this what I want to continue doing?”

In the end, my answer is roughly …. “Yes.”

So I continue into 2015 doing this crazy thing.  And by the end of 2015, these are the goals I would like to have crossed off my list:

  1. Primus (formerly The Good Thing) edited, polished, and pitched/picked up/self-published.
  2. Rough draft of Cheetah on the Roof complete.
  3. Rough draft of super secret novella complete.
  4. Short story collection self-published.
  5. Poetry photo book self-published.
  6. Make at least one short story or poetry submission at month.
  7. Attend three craft conferences/conventions.

This list might be a tad ambitious.  I might have to take off one of the self-published goals (especially considering I have separate goal lists for my own personal goals as well as goals for The Fat Cats Emporium!).  But basically, I need to get something of mine out there, some how, some way, and as soon as possible.  2015 is the year that will happen.

So here we go!

2015 is going to be a very interesting year … !
