Found from an article entitled “Global Street Style” by Guy Trebay in the September 2013 Travel + Leisure magazine. I will be composing another poem sometime today as well, but it is a complete original and is bound for the submission merry-go-round, so unfortunately I will not be able to share until it is published. (See what I did there?? 😉 )

Confused… you wrote that or you found it?? If you wrote it you are a genius!

PAHAH! Sorry to be confusing! The article in the magazine was about how each region of the world has it’s own distinctive style, and how you can tell a person’s nationality many times just by the way they dress. I then picked out words and some phrases from that article and used them (plus added a few words, too) to compose this poem, rearranging them into a different meaning, you might say. So it is not fully original, because I did not come up with the subject matter or most of the words myself, but it is not copied either, because I gave it a new spin. Does that make sense? A full explanation of this form of poetry (which I only VERY recently discovered and LOVE) is here: http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/5780 Enjoy!

Oh and btw… thanks so much for the comment and I’m glad you enjoyed it!

That’s a new one on me, I think I’m going to have to investigate further… I really like the idea of ‘found’ poetry being created out of existing words. Have you come across Tychogirl (http://tychogirl.wordpress.com/)? She does a very similar thing based around astrophysics – yes, I know how that sounds, but trust me 😀

WOW. Tychogirl is….. AMAZING!!!!!!!! I had not seen her stuff yet, but I am hooked now! Thanks for the recommendation!! Yes, definitely investigate further, I’d love to see some found poetry of your own if you decide to venture in, lol.
