Writing Prompt Wednesday: "Humanity's Potential", a found poem.

Last week, I was clued in to the existence of the amazing tychogirl by way of the awesome Jumping From Cliffs.  What I love about tychogirl’s found poems is that she actually cuts and pastes the words onto gorgeous and relevant backgrounds, making the poems themselves doubly-incredible works of art.  In addition, she writes poems about space.  Um, brilliant!

So, blatantly ripping a page from her book, I decided that this week’s WPW post would feature 1) a poem dealing in some way with space and/or science and 2) a poem pasted on an awesome picture background.  I did not have time to cut out each word and scan and upload a beautiful picture, but I did do the next best thing digitally!

The words are from the article “Why Warp Drives Aren’t Just Science Fiction”, and the picture is of ring galaxy AM 0644-741, by NASA/ESA/Hubble Heritage Team.  Hope you enjoy!

I thought so as well! I had planned on eventually writing some original poems based around my experiences as a research assistant, but hadn’t gotten around to it yet. Then I saw this idea and thought… BRILLIANT! 😉 I would LOVE to see some of the same in your future posts!

Thanks for the shout-out! I love that you made “found poetry” the prompt of the day. And nicely done on your own piece! Cheers.
