This is a poem from my upcoming new book of poetry I have planned for publication in May 2016, hopefully in time for Mother’s Day! Quiet morning, the
coffee brewed. Then kids awake,
and chaos reigns true.

Breakfast eaten, clothes
put on, backpacks collected,
all into the car.

Quiet house, all gone
away now. Coffee waits there
still, forgotten, cold.
